Ten reasons why curd should be eaten everyday

There are infinite problems which we all face on a daily basis ranging from indigestion, desiring glowing skin, losing weight to boosting our immunity system. Well there is a single solution to all our problems, (i.e.) having a bowl of curd everyday. On top of that, eating curd is also considered, what we may call as a lucky charm before going for an important work or starting a new endeavour. Whether we believe it or not is upto each individual to decide. Following are the top ten reasons why curd should surely be eaten everyday-

1.    Improves digestion
Curd enables the body to absorb nutrients found in the food we eat. It helps in making PH balance by maintaining the acidity and alkanity of the digestion process. It is a suitable choice for a person suffering from diarrhoea.

2.    Full of nutrition
Curd is of high nutritional value. It enriches the person with Carbohydrates, Protein, Cholesterol and Sodium. Curd is known as one of the best sources for calcium. It also contains vitamin A, D, B-12 and magnesium.

3.    Prevents weight gain
As mentioned above, curd is a great source of calcium. Calcium balances the amount of cortisol in the body that further reduces the risk of obesity. It is said that eating 18 ounces of curd shows wonders in losing belly fat. Thus we now know that calcium is not just vital for protecting our bones but also to keep a check on our weight.

4.    Helps us in getting glowing skin
Unlike ancient beliefs, having fair complexion is not essential. It is important to have a clear and glowing skin. Afterall, a person with a slightly dark complexion but glowing skin can be more attractive than another with fair complexion but a dull skin. Curd contains several minerals like vitamin E, zinc, and phosphorous that helps in enhancing the person’s beauty. Curd is also a great remedy for reducing tanning and keeping the skin acne free.

5.    Helps in getting rid of dandruff
People try lots of expensive hair care products like anti-dandruff shampoos and all the money goes into the drain as they do not prove to be much effective. Curd on the other hand eliminates dandruff as it contains anti-fungal properties due to the presence of lactic acid.

6.    Strengthens bones and teeth
Dairy products like curd are filled with calcium. It is not much of a surprise that curd helps in strengthening bones and teeth. It also contains phosphorous that combines with calcium to promote bone growth. Diseases like arthritis and osteoporosis can be prevented if curd is eaten regularly.

7.    Substitute for milk
Curd proves to be an apt substitute for milk. It is the best option for people who are lactose intolerant or even those who do not like milk. The sole difference between curd and milk is that lactose, a protein present in milk, is converted into lactic acid in curd that makes it easier to digest.

8.    Cardiovascular health
Curd keeps a check on cardiovascular health. It reduces risks of coronary heart diseases as it discourages the formation of cholesterol in the arterial region. It prevents hypertension resulting in improvement of cardiovascular health.

9.    For treating frizzy hair
It is not easy to manage frizzy hair. Curd works wonders on frizzy hair by making it soft and silky. Before shampooing the hair, curd should be applied on the hair from roots to tips for 30 minutes atleast twice a week.

10. An energy booster
Curd leaves the person fully energised.  It also hydrates the body and works as an antioxidant. It works as a stress buster and mood lifter. So from now on whenever we feel low and stressed, we all know what we need to do.
