So
how healthy is Yogurt?
“Yogurt can be an excellent source of protein,
but one variety may contain more than double the protein of another. Greek
yogurt, which is strained to make it thicker, has up to 20 grams of protein per
container; traditional yogurt may have as few as five grams. If you’re eating
It for protein, look for brands that provide at least eight to ten grams per
serving.” – Fitness advisory board
member, Dawn Jackson Blatner.
Do
we consume enough protein?
There seems to be a continuous debate that
is going on about the choice of food consumption amongst population
specifically to do with protein foods. A recent survey revealed that 9 out of
10 Indians lack adequate protein in their diet.
2014 saw a rising trend in the protein
innovation in markets all over Europe and America despite its people having
enough protein in their diets.
The same cannot be said though for Indians,
mainly because our diet mostly revolves around rice and curries. Rice contains
carbohydrates and although curries have vegetables or meat, they are high in
carbohydrates because of the thickeners. They also contain fiber when the rice
eaten is unpolished.
The lack of protein in our diet could be
solved by twerking our diet plan a little to accommodate at least 1gm per
kilogram of a person’s body weight.

to be known as the king of fruits. Yes… Mango it is! But do you know that there
is a little known tropical fruit that shares its name with our cherished
mangoes? It’s called the Mangosteen and wait for it… It’s known as the Queen of
all fruits!
How
good is Mangosteen for our body?
“Imagine
the best peach you’ve ever eaten, combined with a touch of passion fruit, a
silver of nectarine and a nip of lychee. Imagine a concord grape’s sweet purple
essence giving way to the clean leanness of Granny Smith. Add a squeeze of lime
and a spoon of buttery, brown sugar. Stir.”
~ Jarret
Wrisley ~ (On the description of a mangosteen).
Mangosteens are native to the Malay
Peninsula and is domesticated in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Burma, Malaysia
and Singapore. To an extent it is grown in parts of Sri Lanka, India,
Philippines, some places in Africa, the Caribbean, and South America. It has a
deep purplish peel and in the inside of it is a succulent white pulp divided
into 4 to 8 segments and its flavor is more than sensational to the taste buds.
The benefits of Mangosteens are enormous.
It is packed with essential nutrients, is very low in calories (63 calories per
