The exquisite family of CAKE

Butter, cream, all kinds of extracts, and flour – These are the heavenly ingredients of what is essentially stuff that people crave for in the middle of the night where they find themselves hunting for it, deep inside the recesses of their fridge. If you haven’t already guessed what it is that we are talking of, you are probably not one of those sweet-toothed, sugar crazed people but this elusive treat we are raving about are cakes! Specialfoodz now has its very own list of different kinds of cake. So here goes…

Angel Cake – One of the most popular cakes around the world, with very few ingredients and quite easy to make, the Angel cakes is one of the yummiest cakes to be had. Originating from the united states, Angel cake is a sponge cake that is decorated with generous amounts of cream. If you’re watching out for any weight gain, we suggest you devour this only in small doses.

Apple Cake – Sliced apple and other fruits, walnuts, almonds, crushed nuts, various aromatic spices and caramel icing make up this delightful dessert. Very elaborate and exquisite in its setup, it is the best things for get-togethers and reunions.

Pound Cake – Another simple cake that involves just butter, sugar, eggs, and flour as essential and classic ingredients. These cakes are very easy to prepare which requires very little effort from our side. It is usually topped with a simple glaze or water icing. It is nice to have a fair share of pound cake in the house as it is suitable for any sort of occasion.

Blueberry Buckle Cake – As the name suggests, this cake is a treasure of blueberries and coffee. A lovely combination that would suit even folks who do not have any warm feelings towards the condescending cake family. The cake essentially consists huge amounts of fresh blueberries, cinnamon, sugar, flour, and loads of butter with a coffee flavored topping.

Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting – Another rich cake with spectacular ingredients, this carrot cake is filled with spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves. The carrot is grated and added to the cake mix along with coarsely chopped walnuts and shredded coconut. The result is by far, one of the yummiest combinations to be found at social gatherings.

Boston Cream Pie – This cake is filled with a cream filling or custard, eggs and is frosted with college. (that is one deadly combination folks). Despite the name that is given to it, it is, in fact a cake! The cake originates from the united states, Boston.

Baumkuchen – A traditional cake that is made in Germany, the Baumkuchen is a layered cake and is a dessert that is made in many countries across Europe. It is also a popular snack in Japan. When the spit cake is sliced up, rings that resemble tree rings appear, (when one looks at the cake, the center has a gaping hole, almost resembling a doughnut) which gives the cake its German name.

Blondie (Cake) – Blondie (it is in no way connected to the hair color that it is associated with), is a sweet and rich dessert bar. It is made using sugar, eggs, butter, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and vanilla. The cake literally resembles bars. Of cakes of course! In addition, dark or white chocolate chips are added to it, giving it a splendid butterscotch feel.

Bundt Cake – Originating from the United States, the Bundt Cake is baked in a pan and is in the shape of a fluffy ring! This shape is inspired by a European fruit cake that goes by the name Gugelhupf. Although not associated with any singular recipe, the Bundt Cake is usually made using chocolate.

Butterfly Cake – A creation of the United Kingdom, the butterfly cake is a variant of cupcakes also known as fairy cakes. They could be made from any number of flavors (isn’t that cool?). The top of the cake is scooped off and cut into two halves. Later, whipped cream, butter-cream, and other fillings such as jam etc. is put into the hole (talk about presentation).
